New Store for Timberland: Westfield London, Designed by Checkland Kindleysides

As part of the brief for their new store at Westfield London, Timberland challenged Checkland Kindleysides to bring the brand’s iconic tree logo to life and show their environmental values in action.

Taking cues from the Timberland logo and the dynamic tree-like roof supports which form the architecture of the centre, we created a lattice of reclaimed timber branches that stretch the full 25m length of the side elevation, the 11m storefront and the 8.5m height of the store, wrapping the store in the brand’s iconic logo.

A-cero’s Interior Design for Cesar Pelli’s New Skyscraper in Madrid

The Spanish architecture studio A-cero has been appointed for designing the interior space of the Mutua Madrilena tower, in the former Real Madrid’s sports complex known as “Ciudad Deportiva”.

The skyscraper was designed by the prestigious Argentine-American architect Cesar Pelli, author of projects like the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur or the World Financial Center in New York.

The Lobby of the Trianon Palace Hotel Wins the European Hotel Design Awards 2008

The lobby of the Trianon Palace Hotel de Versailles won the award as the Best Lobby for its “aptitude to express the spirit of a historic place using contemporary expressive canons”.

David Ashen of D-ASH Design Creates Roc Pop Shop for Jay Z’s Rocawear Label

D-ASH Design of New York announced RocPopShop, a pop-up shop and lifestyle experience designed to embody Jay Z’s new premium line of apparel for Rocawear and to travel around the country to Jay Z concerts and other events.

The RocPopShop, a 50-foot long trailer that expands to 1000 square feet when opened up, was designed in collaboration with Jay Z, to be an upscale mobile lounge which embodies his aesthetic.

Relocating from Milan, Italy to Covent Garden, London, the European Design Studio of LG is one of the most important design centres for the electronic goods company and houses a team of 20 dedicated industrial and interface designers, drawn from around Europe.

Faneuil Hall Selected to Receive 2009 AIA Twenty-five Year Award

Faneuil Hall Marketplace in Boston, which was a 1976 renewal project by Benjamin Thompson & Associates, has been selected by the American Institute of Architects (AIA) to receive the 2009 AIA Twenty-five Year Award.

The AIA Twenty-five Year Award recognizes an architectural design that has stood the test of time for 25 years.
